iOS 26 inspired Gaussian Blur
At first glance, OxygenOS 16 may look like its predecessor, but the new version uses Gaussian blur in more user elements, giving it a more “Liquid Glass” look and feel. This will most likely be noticeable in the home screen search bar, app drawer, recents screen and the built-in Photos app, which now has an iOS 26-like translucent floating bottom bar.

Customisable Quick Settings
OxygenOS 16 also brings another subtle but really useful change to the Quick Settings panel. Apart from a larger clock, OnePlus has also moved the edit and three-dot menu button from the bottom of the panel to the top.
However, the main update is to the quick tiles themselves. With OxygenOS 16, users will be able to customise the quick settings panel to their preferences. While the top half of the panel will still have 2×1 tiles, you can now remove or rearrange them to your liking. Also, OxygenOS 16 lets you expand any tile you want. While most tiles behave the same way when expanded, some, like the flashlight, offer more actions depending on where you tap.

Talking of AI, the most useful and practical AI feature you will get with OxygenOS 16 is the AI Writer toolkit. The functionality works everywhere and can even help you generate mind maps, captions for social media posts, draft emails, improve and fix text, and even make charts.
With the new camera app, OxygenOS 16 can also scan documents and presentations and quickly convert photos into PDFs. As for the built-in Recorder app, users can now transcribe audio in real time, summarise content, create links to their files for sharing and reduce ambient noise.
