Besides enabling cashless payments for BUDI95 RON95 Petrol, TNG eWallet has announced a new mini-app feature that lets you activate EV chargers seamlessly across multiple charge point operators (CPO).

While there are EV charging roaming agreements between the big players such as Gentari, JomCharge, ChargEV and DC Handal, the new mini-app in TNG eWallet covers the other CPOs in the market including Charge+, Kineta, JusEV, RExharge, EVlution, Rise, ZuraCharge, Equatorial Plaza, EV Mobility, CDG Engie and more.

The “EV Charging” mini-app by Voltality by Beep reduces the need to download multiple apps if you stumble upon a new charging location. Just launch TNG eWallet, tap on the mini-app and scan the QR code to start charging.

The “EV Charging” mini app can be found in TNG eWallet by tapping on the more button on the home screen. If you don’t see it, you can search for “EV Charging”.

After granting the required permissions, you can view all chargers around you on the map. If you tap on the pin, it will show the charger power rating (kW), price, location and even availability. There’s also the option to mark a particular EV charging location as a favourite for quicker access in the future.

However, this “EV Charging” mini app won’t replace your current popular EV charging apps as it doesn’t support larger EV charging networks such as Gentari, JomCharge, ChargEV, DC Handal and ChargeSini.

With support for over ten CPOs, the mini app is useful for that one-off EV charger use and you don’t need to download, create a new account and set up your payment method in a brand new app. Before you can start charging, tap on the account tab and under payments, you need to authorise TNG eWallet as the default payment method.

To activate the charger, just scan the QR code of the charger via the “EV Charging” app, not the default QR scanner on TNG eWallet.

Depending on your location, the “EV Charging” mini-app covers quite a number of EV chargers deployed at hotels, commercial buildings and various places of interest. These chargers are typically not listed in your regular Gentari Go, JomCharge, ChargEV, ChargeSini and Setel apps.

Another key highlight is the mini-app supports cross-border EV charging which allows you to discover and activate over 1,700 EV chargers in Singapore. These includes AC and DC chargers deployed by Charge+, CDG Engie, SP Mobility, EV Mobility and MNL Asia.

In case you missed it, TNG eWallet is also supported at DC Handal EV chargers. The card payment terminal accept TNG eWallet QR codes and you can scan your phone at the card terminal to activate and pay for charging.
