Software updates are what keep our devices working at their best, fixing bugs and adding features. But sometimes things can go awry. That may have happened with the latest iPhone update, iOS 18.3.2, which landed on Tuesday, March 11, as users are reporting that Apple Mail isn’t working properly.

The issue has arisen since the new update arrived, it seems, and users on Reddit and MacRumors forums claim that the Mail app does not push new iCloud emails to their phones, MacRumors notes.
“I’m experiencing an issue with iCloud Mail on my iPhone after updating to iOS 18.3.2. New emails are not being pushed to my device, even though all the correct settings are enabled and it had been working fine on 18.3.1. Manually refreshing the Mail app does retrieve new emails, but they do not arrive automatically via push. Given this issue appears to be tied to the iOS 18.3.2 update, I assume it’s a bug,” says one Redditor.
I should say I haven’t had this problem and haven’t been able to recreate it.
Other users who have come across this issue say the solution is straightforward: a manual refresh of the inbox shows the new emails. Of course, that’s not how it should be working.
The issue seems to be limited to Apple’s services rather than push email from providers like Microsoft, for instance.
It’s thought that the issue is persisting for those users on the upcoming release of iOS 18.4 as well, which is currently in beta and due to go on general release next month.
This means that if Apple feels this problem is widespread enough to deserve quick rectification that it will either need to build the fix into iOS 18.4 or release a smaller update, perhaps iOS 18.3.3, sooner.
