Per PR Times, CASETiFY’s “My Melody and Kuromi Anniversary” phone accessory collection was released in Japan on Thursday, June 26 (JST). In addition to phone cases, the collection also includes metal keychains, AirPods cases and sealable accessory pouches.

Hello Kitty’s Sanrio Celebrates Kuromi & My Melody With New CASETiFY Phone Case Release

Among Sanrio’s prolific lineup of anime-style mascots, My Melody has a significant status in the “kawaii” character hierarchy. Initially created in 1975, she is a rabbit who traditionally dons a bright pink or red hood adorned with a flower on one ear. 30 years later, Kuromi entered the scene as Melody’s self-proclaimed rival. With her spiky-eared jester cap and pink skull accents, she quickly became a fan-favorite character in her own right. 2025’s official Sanrio character ranking determined Kuromi to be the company’s fourth most popular character. The same chart placed Hello Kitty at a modest fifth place and My Melody in sixth. Notably, Sanrio’s first-place winner was Pompompurin — a chubby Golden Retriever character with a small brown beret and a weakness for pudding.

According to PR Times, CASETiFY’s My Melody and Kuromi anniversary phone cases are compatible with modern Samsung, Apple and Google devices. There are seven models in total, including one with a “birthday party invitation-style” design that allows the user to customize it with their name. Another highlight is a large stand mirror that can double as a cute desk decoration. Additionally, the collection features a small, backpack-style pouch that can carry corded headphones and other small accessories. Including tax, the phone cases cost approximately 6,050 yen (~US$42). The tech accessories are sold separately and cost up to 2,200 yen (~US$15).
