New Delhi: Xiaomi has expanded its entry-level smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Redmi A5, a feature-packed 4G device aimed at budget-conscious consumers. The smartphone, ready for sale on Wednesday (April 16), boasts an attractive mix of modern features, including a 120Hz refresh rate display, a large battery, and Android 15 out of the box.
The Redmi A5 features a 6.88-inch HD+ display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits, offering a vibrant viewing experience. It also carries an IP52 rating, protecting against splashes, and includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for quick and secure unlocking.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Unisoc T7250 octa-core processor, paired with up to 4 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage, expandable up to 2 TB. The phone is backed by a 5,200 mAh battery with 15w fast charging support (charger included in the box), promising all-day power for moderate users.
Photography on the Redmi A5 is handled by a 32 MP primary rear camera, accompanied by a secondary lens for added depth or utility. On the front, users get an 8 MP selfie camera, ideal for video calls and social media snaps.
The Redmi A5 runs on Android 15, with Xiaomi committing to two years of software updates and four years of security patches.
The smartphone will be available in two variants:

– 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage priced at ₹7,499
Sales begin April 16, and the Redmi A5 will be available through Mi.com, Amazon, Flipkart, and leading retail stores across India.
