Samsung is widely expected to begin a stable One UI 8 rollout in August. Ahead of that, the company is busy updating Galaxy devices to the latest security patch. The Galaxy S22 series has now joined the July 2025 update party, following its successors, the Galaxy S23, S24, and S25 series.

Samsung pushes the July security update to the Galaxy S22 series

Currently rolling out in South Korea, the July 2025 update for the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra includes patches for 1 critical and 21 high-level Android OS vulnerabilities. Additionally, it patches 17 Samsung security flaws (in One UI components) and one Exynos vulnerability. While it may not be the largest SMR (Security Maintenance Release) from Samsung in recent times, it contains some important patches.

Korean Galaxy S22 users are receiving this update with the firmware build version FYG1. Samsung will gradually expand the release to more markets. The July update for the Galaxy S25, S24, and S23 series also debuted in the domestic market. The company has already released it globally for the former two lineups.
